Lilly is an average mortal with a penchant for talking too much and coordination skills that are frequently challenged. She doesn’t mean to see the Reaper collecting souls, nor does she mean to step into the path of the car that heralds her first death.

When Eclipse, aka the Reaper, steps back into the mortal world after eons of self-imposed seclusion, he doesn’t expect Lilly to see him because he’s invisible to mortals. But she does, and that creates a complication, especially since she dies every single time, in the clumsiest ways.

And that’s a problem in a world where mortal deaths are predetermined and falling for one is forbidden.
